A series of pictures taken at Sywell Aerodrome showing the aeroplane when it was owned and operated by Southern Joyrides Ltd., in an all-over silver colour scheme. The set includes views taken inside the passenger cabin and cockpit.
These pictures have been recently re-scanned from the original prints using more up-to-date equipment working at a higher resolution than the previously-released set.
The De Havilland 89a Dragon Rapide was an eight-seat twin engined short haul biplane airliner designed in the 1930s. Many were built for military use during World War 2 as the De Havilland Dominie, some of which were later civilianised for post-war use.
