A series of pictures showing the Sopwith Camel in the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden, including cockpit views. This is a late-production example built to original specifications by the Northern Aeroplane Workshops. At the time these pictures were taken the aeroplane was not quite completed and some pictures show the airframe with engine and cowling panels removed. The Sopwith F1 Camel was the highest-scoring British fighter of the First World War and was flown by the Royal Flying Corps and a number of allied air forces. A version with slightly shorter wings was flown from ships by the Royal Naval Air Service.
