1/3 scale, 98" wingspan.
Construction is balsa, spruce, aluminium and carbon fiber tubing. The covering is Ceconite and finished in silver paint. The pilot has a real leather jacket. Bud's wife did a good job hand tailoring the clothes. He has legs and feet and barely fits into the cockpit.
The model is actually of a full size and flying reproduction of the original Bathtub. A fellow by the name of Mike Kimball built the reproduction some 25 years ago and he flew it at the EAA meet in Oskosh, Wisconin. Consequently, Bud's model is of Kimball's interpretation of the original aircraft which is nonexistent.
